“[The Wall] was a source of pain, sadness, and problems for me. There was no time or space to play,” said Fulvio Pinna in a 2021 interview.
The painter and sculptor Fulvio Pinna was born in Sardinia, Italy, in 1948. He gave up his teaching profession in 1975 to work as a freelance artist. In 1987, he moved to West Berlin and later opened a gallery there. His mural “Hymn to Joy” celebrates the liberation from dictatorship.
Pinna painted his mural on the Berlin Wall within a few hours without any prior concept. At the top of the painting, a siren banishes the dictatorship from the world, while at the bottom, an Italian Renaissance landscape represents the existential importance of beauty. With his painting, he celebrates the liberation from dictatorship and the joy of the East Germans’ newfound freedom. Pinna wants to remind us that all people are born free, but many have to live in bondage.

…and so you can see what you can look forward to, here are finally the pictures of our 2025 finisher shirts!
Reminder: The shirt for the individual runners is a real finisher shirt – you’ll receive it at the finish line. Relay runners can wear the shirt during the race – provided they purchase it at the bib distribution point on August 15th at the hotel. So remember to tell your captains your size – or come all together for a fitting!
We hope this has further increased your anticipation – we’re really looking forward to seeing you!

Dear solo runners, have you found a cycling companion yet? Not yet, but you don’t want to be alone? Then it’s high time to start looking! If your dream partner is still hesitant, just show them the picture of our new cycling companion shirt, which they will receive when they pick up their bib number. And if you’ve found someone, please tell us the name of this wonderful person in good time… because companions can be booked until July 31st. You’ve already received the link by email.
Dear relay runners, you’ve already mastered an important challenge: You’ve formed a team and probably already discussed who would like to tackle which part of the course. Please don’t forget to let us know the order of the runners. If there’s a particularly large demand for your 10+ relay, you also have the option of registering additional runners. This is also possible until July 31st. via the link that your squadron captains received by email.

And for us, participating doesn’t just mean running, but also helping out (we’re still looking for volunteers)… or simply joining in the fun, cheering, and celebrating. And for those who’ve already asked if you can get a nice shirt without running: Here’s our 2025 event shirt!
You don’t have to run to wear it… but you can of course buy it as a runner, either for yourself or for your loyal fans along the course or at home.
