Meet the Mauerweglauf Organizing Team – Part 4:

Heribert Schregel, Logistics Team Leader
The logistics team is responsible for driving to all 26 aid stations during the 100MeilenBerlin to deliver all necessary food and beverages and, after the last runners have passed, to bring everything back to the warehouse. During the event, any problems that inevitably arise despite careful planning must be resolved promptly.
Months before the Mauerweglauf, the route schedule for the entire event must be drawn up, the vehicles for deliveries to the aid stations must be ordered, and the shuttle bus between the H4 Hotel and Jahn-Sportpark on Saturday morning must be booked. The shuttle that takes the runners back to the H4 Hotel after the race must be organized. All routes, drivers, and trucks must be coordinated with Zapf, our sponsor, who also provides us with drivers and trucks.
The active phase then begins on the Monday before the event. All materials for the event must be transported from our main warehouse to the event’s temporary storage facility; over the course of the week, materials must be taken to the H4 Hotel and delivered to the stadium.
After the event, it takes a few more days to collect all the materials and return them to the main warehouse.
